Summary:
The Registrar reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
The Registrar is responsible for the collection, maintenance, integrity, and security of the academic records, supervision of the registration process, coordination of the scheduling of classes, certification for awarding of degrees, grade reporting, transcript maintenance, and classroom scheduling.
The Registrar is an integral member of the College's enrollment management team and contributes significantly to the goal of ensuring that systems and services are efficient and student-oriented.
The Registrar will also play a role in expanding the College's capabilities for research and analysis in the areas of recruitment, enrollment, retention, and completion.
Examples of Work Performed:
Establishes goals and objectives for the area in conjunction with the Dean of Academic Affairs.
Ensures the accuracy and integrity of the students' academic records.
Complies with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
Develops schedules for credit classes working with department chairs and the Dean for Academic Affairs.
Edits institutional reports related to student enrollment, pursuit of degree, and program completion for the State of New York.
Fosters collaboration among departments to provide efficient and effective scheduling, registration, and retention efforts.
Oversees credit registration drop/adds, and withdrawals, enrollment certifications to external agencies, transcript requests and tracking, class rosters, athletic rosters, the master schedule of classes, classroom scheduling, maintenance of biographical data, entering grade and distribution of grade reports, graduation audits, and ordering and distributing of diplomas.
Responsible for notification to students and college officials of academic suspension and probation of student college regulations.
Works closely with the Office of Information Technology to maintain Banner forms pertaining to registration, rosters, transcripts, class scheduling, course history, grade maintenance, classroom scheduling, end-of-semester processing, and graduation audits.
Tests and trouble-shoots the Banner forms ads each new update is implemented.
Harnesses technology to improve office efficiency and service.
Maintains the official College historical documents pertaining to records and registration.
Serves on appropriate College committees (e.
g.
the Curriculum Committee the Academic Standards Committee, the Graduation Committee, the Instructional Advisory Committee and the Retention Committee).
Assists the Dean of Academic Affairs in the planning and execution of institutional research.
Ensures the accuracy of the academic catalog.
Active in state, regional, and national professional organizations (e.
g.
SUNYRA, MSACRAO, and AACRAO).
Develops and maintains the departmental and graduation budgets.
Leads, manages, and motivates staff and supports cross-functional applications.
Supervises and evaluates the Registrar's staff and recommends staff for appointments, reappointments, and promotions.
Performs other duties and special studies as directed by VP of Enrollment Management.
Minimum
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required.
Working knowledge of an integrated student information system, preferably Banner.
Demonstrated skill in leadership, communication, and management.
Knowledge of statistical analysis in higher education.
Ability to work effectively with a broad constituency.
High ethical and professional standards and a commitment to service.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Master's degree.
A minimum of five years maintaining student academic records at a community college preferred.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
