The Program Assistant in the library reports to the Director of Library Services.
The Program Assistant acts as the evening manager of the library.
The Program Assistant is responsible for the ordering library materials and the associated bookkeeping.
In addition, the Program Assistant provides administrative support for the library's information literacy program and other library initiatives.
The Program Assistant participates in day to day activities supporting students in the library.
This position is a 16/hr per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 1:
30-5:
30, Wednesday 3-7pm) 12-month appointment.
Hours vary during intersession and summer.
Examples of Work Performed:
Acts as the supervisor of the library building after 4pm.
Prepares requisition requests for approval.
Researches vendor options comparing costs and services.
Enters requisitions and budget modifications; maintains departmental budget on Banner.
Processes invoices for submission to Accounts Payable office.
Orders books using various vendor systems.
Places and monitors orders for library purchases; subscriptions, books, supplies etc.
Inputs data and generates reports in Banner related to department administration including course schedules, class rosters, enrollment, and student information.
Produces and submits adjunct faculty contracts, maintains faculty pay scale records, records and reports adjunct faculty evaluation data to appropriate staff, and provides department orientation to new faculty.
Staffs the circulation desk.
Assists and properly refers students.
Supports department chair and librarians in the planning of department events and programs including Library Writers Series, Ellen Robbins Poetry Forum, library workshops, and meetings.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum
Qualifications:
Associate degree, strong computer skills including database/spreadsheet knowledge; experience processing accounts payables, ability to work independently.
Intermediate or higher proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite skills:
Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications:
Experience in higher education, especially the community college environment.
Experience working in a library.
Direct experience with the Banner system.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
